Pier and sports harbor

The lifeline of Stein am Rhein has always been the pier. Where transport ships used to dock, today it is tourist boats with groups of tourists. The place changed periodically according to the needs.

The Disability Equality Act was the trigger for adapting the landing stages for scheduled navigation to the latest standards. Due to the necessary boarding ramps, the technical facilities had to be placed in the Rhine. On the land side, the bank wall was renovated, the ticket house was moved to a rear room and the square was repaired as a provisional solution. With simple means, the square will be used for the next few years until it is redesigned.

The adjacent harbour for recreational boats is another milestone in the redesign of the waterfront according to an overall concept.
