A modern and communal residential neighbourhood is being developed in the north of Berlin, incorporating the existing forest structures. The early involvement of the landscape architecture has significantly influenced the structure of the single-family and multi-family houses, the type and scope of the low-traffic infrastructure and the designation of a neighbourhood community centre with a neighbourhood square. Sustainably designed residential buildings with spacious gardens are created, which are accessed by leafy and traffic-calmed play streets. The focus is clearly on pedestrian usability throughout the neighbourhood. A complex drainage concept allows all rainwater to seep away locally, roof surfaces are greened and the forest-like green corridors with play and recreational facilities through the neighbourhood are integrated into the concept. A central neighbourhood square with a community centre for neighbourly events and celebrations will be the heart of the new residential community.
